Upper Laurentians International Festival

Thur. Jul. 5, 7:30 pm, at the Mont Tremblant village church, 1829, chemin du Village, Mont-Tremblant: Opening concert Alexandre Da Costa & Denis Brott. They will play Bach suite No. 3 for cello and violin, followed by the duo by Kodaly, and the Passacaglia of Händel-Halvorsen.  $35 

 

Thur. Jul. 12, 8 pm: Centre sportif et culturel de la Vallée de la Rouge, 1550, ch. du Rapide, Rivière-Rouge.  Alexandre Da Costa with his ensemble “Le Stradivari Sinfonia” play baroque classical music by Bach and Vivaldi, and Electro-pop.  $35 

 

Fri. Jul. 13, 7:30 pm: at the Saint-Ignace de Loyola church, 2263, rue du Sacré-Coeur, Nominingue, QC J0W 1R0.  “Ma belle si tu voulais” - Baritone Marc Boucher and soprano Andréanne Brisson-Paquin will sing romantic songs accompanied by the ensemble Romanesco.  $35

Jul. 14, 7:30 pm: Saint-Hugues de Lac Saguay bldg. 8 B, chemin de l’Église, Lac-Saguay J0W 1L0.  Billy Love Band Violinist, composer, and singer William Lamoureux, accompanied by musicians: Benaias Lemma, guitar, voice; Jean-Philippe Lapensée, bass; Samuel Goswell, drums.  The music is inspired by Radiohead, Andrew Bird, Chris Thile, classical music, Jazz, and folk.  This is a Free Outdoor Concert!

 

 

Mont Tremblant

July 6 – 15 - 25th International Blues Festival of Tremblant: Featuring blues musicians from Australia, Canada, Chicago, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Missouri.  Free concerts!

 

Sat. Jul. 7: The legendary Elvin Bishop, who sings the blues for almost 60 years, will perform at the Casino. 

Sun. Jul. 8: Singer/song writer Eric Bibb acoustic blues. 

Wed. Jul. 11: World renowned Beth Hart.

Fri. Jul. 13: from New York Shemekia Copeland.

June 16, 8 pm: Christian Marc Gendron – Piano Man Experience – from the 40s to the present, legendary pianist held a place at the top with their songs, from the piano bars of New York to the hotels of Las Vegas, names such as Ray Charles, Billy Joel, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elton John and many others have brought their songs to life. Christian Marc Gendron has invited Manon Séguin, to join him in the “Piano Man Experience.”  $45

 

Sat. June 30, 8 pm: Claude Dubois “Dubois en Liberté.”  Song writer/Singer Claude Dubois has been coming to the Patriote since he was discovered in the auditions. This is a new program which will also include some of his past successes.  $50

June 16, 8 pm:  Jabbour Band – Guillaume Jabbour is a local musician who is back to share his musical talent and that of his amazing band.  Jabbour brings together some of Montreal's finest musicians and songwriters.  Bassist Carl Rufh comes from Jazz, blues and folk background.  Bill Collier plays the Ukulele, and does percussion with Cajun foot tambourine.   Bill Gossage, on fiddle, has recently joined the group. $25 with reservation; $30 at the door! Summer Theatre in St. Jerome “Le Concierge” from June 20 to Aug. 11

July 14; 8 pm, duration 2 h with an intermission.  It is in French, yet promises to be very good after great success in 2017, 75 full house shows, and over thirty-thousand spectators. 

 

The play: Twenty years ago, Evelyn was left by her husband Jean-Pierre, a flamboyant business man without scruples.  She found herself alone and impoverished, then decided to take her life in her hands.  She started a publishing house which thrived.  One day Jean-Pierre reappeared in her office asking for forgiveness and employment.  Guess what?  He became the Janitor and the condition was that no one would know who he really is, which led to all sorts of humiliations.

Fri. July 6, 8 pm: Love Duo at the Opera: Soprano Eleonora de la Pena, and baritone Hugo Laporte accompanied by Louise Andrée Baril at the piano.  They will sing about love, comedy, conquests, in solos and duets.  Enjoy the most popular opera love songs. $35

 

Sat. July 7, 8 pm: Opera and Ballet.  Centre d’art la Petite Église de Saint-Eustache Four artists will share the stage Soprano Christine Williams, and tenor Rodrigo Ocampo, will accompany “Les Oiseaux du Paradis” (Birds of Paradise) by aerial ballet dancer Elsie Morin, and acrobat Mathieu Roy they use a device they invented fully automated 360 degree rotating mast.  The artists will explore the theme of hope for a better future.  The music included Tabemera Del Puerto, Michel Legrand Medley, Spente Le Stelle, and more.  $35.

 

Sunday July 8 – 2:30pm: A free concert presented by the Promenade Paul Sauvé.  In case of rain, the concert will be held at Centre d’art la Petite Église. The young singers will perform the most popular Opera songs. The singers are: soprano Suzanne Taffot, mezzo Jacinta Barbachano de Aguero, tenor Mathieu Abel, and baritone Hugo Laporte.
